ABOUT THE

SCHOOL^PLUS SHARED  LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

The

School^PLUS Shared Leadership Institute was formed in December 2004 when over 100 individuals from a wide range of sectors  came together to support advancing the development of

School^PLUS leadership skills in the areas of Pre-Service training, In-Service training and Community and Youth Leadership development. 

The

School^PLUS Shared Leadership Institute is coordinated and supported by the

School^PLUS Research Consortium, consisting of the:

• Saskatchewan Professional Development Unit (SPDU), Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation;
• Saskatchewan Instructional Development Research Unit (SIDRU), University of Regina;
• Saskatchewan Educational Leadership Unit (SELU), University of Saskatchewan;
• Research Centre, Saskatchewan School Boards Association; and,
• Policy, Evaluation and Legislative Services Branch, Ministry of Education.

The term "institute" was chosen to reflect a focus on learning that would assist

School^PLUS members in developing the knowledge and skills to function in

School^PLUS environments.  The Institute was established with a three-year charter and the intent of being more than a network for information dissemination.
