Intensive French Symposium

The Curriculum Unit of the Student Achievement and Supports Branch of the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Association of French Teachers are pleased to offer a one week summer symposium for new and experienced Intensive French teachers.

The symposium will be very practical. The agenda will focus on the theory and research behind successful second language acquisition and the strategies used in the teaching of oral communication, reading and writing. Teachers will have the opportunity to work in small groups with experienced Intensive French teachers to practice the strategies and receive feedback. By the end, teachers will be able to deliver lessons in Intensive French using the recommended teaching strategies and resources. The strategies also apply in elementary French Immersion and Core French classrooms.

Tuition is complimentary to current STF members. However, pre-registration is required before June 15, 2014. Associate and non-member tuition fee and registration information is available by contacting Linda Osborne in Regina at 306-787-2595 or at linda.osborne@gov.sk.ca.

Post-Intensive French Symposium

The symposium will be very practical. The agenda will focus on the theory and research behind successful second language acquisition and the strategies used in the teaching of oral communication, reading and writing. Teachers will have the opportunity to work in small groups with experienced Post-Intensive French teachers to practice the strategies and receive feedback. By the end, teachers will be able to deliver lessons in Post-Intensive French using the recommended teaching strategies and resources.
