INTENSIVE AND POST-INTENSIVE FRENCH SUMMER INSTITUTE
The Student Achievement and Supports Branch of the Ministry of Education in collaboration with The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation is pleased to offer a one week summer symposium for new and experienced Intensive and Post-Intensive French teachers, as well as French Immersion and Core French teachers.
The symposium will take place from August 12-16, 2013 in
The symposium will be very practical. By the end, teachers should be able to plan lessons in Intensive and Post-Intensive French and to use the recommended teaching and assessment and evaluation strategies for the development of oral communication, reading, and writing in all second language classrooms. We invite teachers from other provinces and territories to participate.
The agenda focuses on the training of teachers new to Intensive and Post-Intensive French as well as a sharing of successful strategies and activities among experienced teachers. The strategies used in the teaching of oral communication, reading, writing, assessment and evaluation as well as observations made by consultants and/or the program developers will be highlighted. The cost is $600 (out-of-province participants only) payable to the SATF (Saskatchewan Association of Teachers of French).
Please contact the individuals responsible at your school board or at the provincial Ministry of Education to inquire if financial support is available to help defray costs of travel, accommodation and/or registration.
The deadline for registrations is July 30, 2013. For more information, please contact Linda Osborne at email@example.com
In-province participants: Please register with the STF Summer Short Courses
