Curriculum Unit - French Programs / Unité des programmes d'études en français
This Unit provides French language curricula and services for students and teachers for French as a second language (Core French, Intensive French, French immersion) and French as a first language (Fransaskois) programs.  It also manages the Federal/Provincial programs including bursaries and exchanges.

The Programs and Instruction Unit leads and facilitates supports and services to education stakeholders to meet the needs of teaching and learning in order that all learners reach their full potential.

First Nations and Métis Education
First Nations and Métis perspectives, content, and ways of knowing are accessible and visible across all of the work done by the Ministry of Education.  The Student Achievement and Supports Branch works closely with school divisions and other educational partners to create First Nations and Métis education plans, develop curriculum and learning supports, ensure equitable resources and opportunities, and strategically address the growing and diverse population of Saskatchewan.  The Student Achievement and Supports Branch also works to develop partnerships with First Nations and Métis organizations, retain and revitalize Indigenous languages and cultures, conduct and implement research to identify best promising practices, all with the objective of ensuring equitable opportunities and outcomes for Saskatchewan students.

Independent Schools and Home-based Education
The Programs and Instruction Unit registers, inspects and supervises independent schools, monitors the registration of home-based education programs with school divisions, and ensures compliance with the legal requirements for the operation of independent schools and home-based education programs.

Assessments measure student achievement of curricular outcomes on a student-by-student basis through assessments designed by teachers.
