The Policy, Evaluation and Legislative Services Branch provides corporate strategic, innovative and collaborative policy leadership and support through sound research, planning and evaluation to strengthen Saskatchewan's Education sector.  The branch works with internal and external partners and stakeholders to promote strong education and social outcomes for Saskatchewan children and youth as a foundation for life long learning and social and economic well being.

The branch has responsibility for the three regional offices which work with school divisions and stakeholders to implement education sector priorities.  The branch oversees development, implementation and monitoring of legislation and policies for independent schools and home-based education.  The branch provides leadership on the application of legislation and regulations pertinent to school administration as well as support to the Provincial Teacher Bargaining and the application of agreements to the PreK-12 education system.

The branch also provides central support to the Human Services Integration Forum which is currently represented by nine human service ministries, and works with ten Regional Intersectoral Committees to deliver programs and services for vulnerable populations in their community.
