As part of the Official Languages Programs, Odyssey is a full-time work experience as a language assistant that gives you the opportunity to travel to another part of Canada, and share your language and culture with another community. Language assistants work 25 hours per week and receive a taxable salary of $18,500 (as well as other allowances) for the nine months of the Odyssey work term from the beginning of September through to May 31. All of the ten provinces along with the three territories participate in the program.
As a language assistant with Odyssey, you will lead language and cultural activities in English in an elementary, secondary, or postsecondary classroom setting helping young people who want to learn English and discover Anglophone Canadian culture.
