The Branch provides advice and support to departmental and interdepartmental policy and program development and implementation, promoting respect for Indigenous Knowledge, protocols and governance structures and for cultural affirmation and validation through shared responsibility.

The Ministry of Education is a member of the Aboriginal Education Research Network.
